Trixie. I love Trixie. Waaay before the latest episode too, at risk of sounding hipster. But the Great and Powerful Trixie has held her place as best pony for a while now, at least to me.

Twilight Sparkle will always be my favourite pony.
I think...I feel more fond because she is the most like me with her piles of books and introvertedness and love of learning new things. It's nice to see a character like that represented - and liked! - on tv.

I love Twilight because of her love of learning, and how adorkable she can be, but I sort of identify more with Fluttershy because of her shy demeanor.

I like Twilight and Sweetie Belle. I just have a thing for smart characters I guess, and Sweetie Belle is adorable in her own little goofy way.

Sweetie Belle IS adorable. She had that shrill squeak to her voice when she gets excited/upset/angry which is so so cute!
What did y'all think of the last episode? I really liked it. It had some great character development, showed off Zecora's powers a little, canonized Alicorn, gave Fluttershy some nifty screen time, and really added depth to everything. That, and there was the worldbuilding with dark back-alley stores, Saddle Arabia (who's horses look a lot like celestia. hmm), and showing that Equestria is not a safe haven, because Trixie was bullied out of town.

The Magic Duel was really good. I thought the duel itself would have gone more like the fight with the changelings, but I guess having Twilight poof a mustache on Trixie was probably a better idea than them both shooting death beams at each other. I do question Rarity's design choices for Fluttershy's stealth costume although it was adorable.
